Chris Welber has found his niche at AMC. In 2008, after 8 years with the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, he was looking for an opportunity to put his MBA in operations management and healthcare administration to work in a healthcare setting. With nearly 20 healthcare association clients, AMC fit the bill. Today, Chris serves as executive director of the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS).
"What I like best about my job is that every day is different," Chris says. "There are so many components that go into leading an association. I enjoy being involved in managing all of them and seeing my clients achieve their missions."
Chris acknowledges that one of the first steps in effectively managing an association is to establish a trusting relationship with the executive board so that they feel comfortable leaving the day-to-day operations to AMC and focusing on the strategic plan of the organization. Creating this trusting relationship also fosters a unified approach to establishing the goals that the organization needs to pursue to sustain and grow membership and become an influential resource in their field.
Chris is adept at managing multiple projects and is committed to developing, improving, and implementing solutions that help his clients become more effective and efficient in delivering their products and services. His projects run the gamut—from budgeting and overseeing website redesign to planning annual meetings and strategic planning retreats. And there's not an assignment he's not ready to handle because AMC has a team of specialists at his disposal who can take on any project.
