Mary Beth Benner, CAE

As vice president of client success, Mary Beth Benner, CAE, oversees and manages AMC's relationship with our association clients, ensuring the development of business growth strategies, the delivery of service excellence, and the overall achievement of their strategic objectives. Mary Beth Benner brings extensive experience in board governance, long-range strategic planning, budgeting and financial management, operational management, educational programming, continuing education accreditation for physicians and nurses, project and publication management, government relations, and more to her role.

A Certified Association Executive, Mary Beth has championed leader success throughout her 20+-year career. She is adept at building trust, understanding member and leader needs, and helping organizations establish mutually defined goals. Above all, Mary Beth values relationship-building and establishing infrastructures that engage leaders and all members of an association. She is a firm believer that an effective, well-run organization allows volunteer leaders to focus and contribute their unique skill-set, while staff contributes their expertise to organizational management.

In addition to advocating teamwork and better decision making, Mary Beth applies her Crucial Conversations training, which allows her to have a greater impact on consensus building, conflict resolution and team performance.

Mary Beth is among the leaders at AMC that developed foundational governance education for association staff titled, Effective Governance Practices for Staff. The program provides an overview of sound governance practices along with practical “take-home” examples for individual implementation.
