We are pleased to announce that Bruce Hammond has been promoted to executive director of the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board (HMDCB), an AMC client partner.
Bruce has a successful and storied history with AMC. He joined our organization in 2013 as senior manager of corporate marketing and communications, overseeing and implementing AMC’s overall marketing strategy and communications outreach. In 2016, after earning his CAE, Bruce transitioned to a new role working directly with our client partners as governance and operations director for the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO) and director of marketing and communications for HMDCB.
According to AMC CEO Scott Engle, “Bruce has been a standout leader since he joined AMC. He is exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate about the association industry and the clients he serves. His innovative approaches have resulted in many successes, most notably yearly growth for HMDCB.”
A 2015 Association Forum Forty Under 40 award recipient, Bruce brings a strong communications and association background to his new role. Prior to AMC, he was the director of marketing and communications for the National Sporting Goods Association. He has also served on several Association Forum work groups, including as chairperson of the Forum Magazine Editorial Working Group, member of the Forum Forward Program Advisory Group, and chairperson of the CAE Working Group.
About his new role, Bruce says, “Being named executive director of HMDCB is a tremendous honor. The hospice physicians I work with have chosen a noble calling, caring for those at end of life. And by becoming HMDCB certified, they have chosen to differentiate themselves from their colleagues by showcasing a knowledge base and competence in the work they do. I look forward to taking advantage of all the opportunities to heighten the visibility and awareness of these inspiring physicians and continuing HMDCB’s positive upward trajectory.”
