We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Pomeroy as executive director of the APA, a trade association managed by AMC. Pomeroy succeeds Louise Ristau, who served as APA’s executive director for 15 years.

Pomeroy brings more than 30 years of business-to-business media, sales, publishing, events, and executive leadership experience in the awards and personalization industry. He joined APA two years ago as director of business development, helping grow the International Awards & Personalization Expo, boost engagement, and increase revenue. Under his leadership, exhibiting companies increased 24%, total exhibit booths rose 12%, and revenue grew 19%.

Before joining APA, Pomeroy spent nearly three decades with National Business Media, advancing through sales and publishing leadership roles before being named president in 2019. During his tenure, he served as publisher of industry titles including A&E and Printwear and helped lead a portfolio of trade publications and industry events.

“Dave brings a deep understanding of the awards and personalization industry, a strong record as an executive leader, and a strategic focus on creating value for APA members,” said Steve Smith, CEO of AMC. “We look forward to supporting APA’s next chapter as it expands opportunities for members to connect and grow their businesses.”

Pomeroy holds a master’s degree in popular culture from Bowling Green State University.

He began his new role on October 1, 2026.
