Karen Christensen Araujo Joins AMC as Director of Marketing

We are excited to announce that Karen Christensen Araujo, MA, has been hired as the director of marketing at AMC. In this role, she will lead a shared-services marketing and creative team in providing cost-effective solutions that advance the visibility, brand, and revenue potential of our association clients’ programs and products.

Christensen Araujo comes to AMC with more than 15 years of experience in developing marketing strategies that engage, increase revenue, and strengthen brand identity. Most recently, she was the senior director of marketing strategy and brand management for the Society of Surgical Oncology, where she oversaw all marketing operations, including strategy, creative direction, branding, and print and digital production. Among her successes at the Society was a comprehensive rebranding initiative that served as the foundation for a market-expansion strategy that led to double-digit growth. As a progressive marketer, she introduced innovative digital technologies to develop a membership win-back campaign that exceeded revenue goals and led a redesign of the Society’s website, winning an ASAE Gold Circle Award and a W3 Award.

Along with her experience at the Society, Christensen Araujo has held roles as director of product marketing at the AMA; vice president of marketing and communications for the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization; vice president/managing director for IDEON Healthcare Education, a division of Williams-Labadie, LLC; and account director for the Williams-Labadie Agency, LLC.

Christensen Araujo has an MA in business communications and public relations from Emerson College.

She began her role at AMC on October 5, 2023.
