AMC is pleased to announce that Lance Mueller has been hired as the executive director of the Palliative Care Quality Collaborative (PCQC).

Lance brings more than 10 years of strategic healthcare association experience to his role as executive director. He comes to AMC from the American Medical Association (AMA), where he led the Healthcare Quality team, was responsible for helping physicians leverage data to improve business sustainability, and served as program director of the AMA’s Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative. Prior to the AMA, Mueller was the director of registries for the Anesthesia Quality Institute (AQI), where he led the growth of AQI from 1 registry with 4 participants to multiple registries with 400+ participants and 35+ million anesthesia procedures.

“We are very excited to have Lance join the AMC team,” says AMC CEO Scott Engle. “He is a trusted leader in the association industry who focuses both on achieving results and building successful partnerships. We are confident that PCQC will benefit from Lance’s business skills and experience leading teams to identify growth strategies, implement operational improvements, and improve customer and patient experiences.”

Lance has a master’s degree in mathematics from Northern Illinois University and speaks regularly as a subject matter expert for national and state medical societies.

About his new position, Lance says, “It is an honor to lead PCQC and join AMC. I look forward to helping this new data-registry organization achieve its mission of collecting data to promote quality improvement and reporting for the palliative care field, patients, and physicians.”

Lance began his role on January 6, 2020.
