We are excited to announce that Debbie Trueblood, MSW IOM CAE, has joined our team as a senior consultant for AMC Consulting Services.
Debbie comes to AMC with 20 years of progressive leadership experience in association management and a specialty in helping associations recover from financial challenges and implement diversity programs. Most recently, since 2012, she served as the executive director of the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA). Prior to that role, she held executive director roles with the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine, Academy for Eating Disorders, Society of Vertebrate Paleontology, and the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, and was interim executive director for the Illinois HomeCare & Hospice Council (IHHC). She has also served in government relations roles for the IHHC, National Private Duty Home Care Association, and American Osteopathic Association.
An active volunteer leader, speaker, and author in the association community, Debbie currently serves as the vice chair of the Board of the National Association of Park Foundations, vice chair of Association Forum’s Welcoming Environment Committee, and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Executive Management Council. She was the 2018-2019 chair of the ASAE Ethics Committee, leading the team to publish a national ethics toolkit for associations. She also presents nationally on topics including ethics, nonprofit recovery, and developing mentoring programs.
“We are beyond excited to add Debbie to our AMC Consulting team. Her past leadership experience will give her unique insight into the current challenges facing associations today, and her business acumen will lead to successful strategies for our clients,” says AMC Vice President of Business Development Mike Norbut, MBA MSJ. “She has fantastic presentation skills and is passionate about helping associations succeed.”
Debbie has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois–Chicago, is a graduate of the Institute for Organization Management (IOM) and Illinois Women’s Institute for Leadership, is a certified association executive (CAE), was a recipient of the Association Forum Forty Under 40 award, and received the IPRA Diversity Section Icon award in 2019.
